Jesus Muñoz Flamenco

Mission

The revolution in Flamenco will come from understanding the beginning.. the compas.. the letra.. the soniquete.. the peso..the love of flamenco.  Repetition of Flamenco technique is necessary to the learning process, but art and technique in the end have as much to do with each other as they have nothing to do with each other.
"Flamenco Por Derecho" first and foremost promotes Flamenco art.  The foundation of Flamenco Por Derecho is our tablao-style flamenco and the true interaction between dancers and musicians which make it the purest form of flamenco.  We strive to reach the same majestic breath in choreography.  The cuadro is a living organism and with it comes the ebb and flow of life; some nights the interactions blossom and transition, sometimes they burn slowly and sometimes they never spark.  But.. awaiting this true improvisational interaction to occur is a gem and the purest and truest form of flamenco art.
Flamenco Por Derecho simply put, means Flamenco straight up.

The mission of Jesus Muñoz Flamenco Por Derecho in conjunction with Casa Flamenca: School of Flamenco is to foster and nurture the element of improvisation within a professional setting.  Passion is a given, but is not enough. Education, study and most of all hard work are what transform an already aspiring dancer or musician into an artist.
The goal of the organizations at a community level is to develop, nurture and foster an interest in Flamenco through its holistic and collaborative approach; A revitalization of Flamenco art.  Every concert produced in-state will be done with the intent of not only promoting Flamenco of the highest caliber, but also contributing back to the New Mexican community.  Flamenco Por Derecho is creating a tourism market in Albuquerque by generating an extended multiple-week season of live Flamenco in Albuquerque and the non-profit school Casa Flamenca will be financing scholarships and other opportunities to needing and deserving students.
